Alex Ovechkin has officially done something that no one thought would be done in the NHL as he has officially broken Wayne Gretzky's goal scoring record.
With a goal today, Alex Ovechkin has officially surpassed Wayne Gretzky and now holds the all-time lead in goals with 895 career goals.
Ovechkin nearly broke the record the other night when the Capitals took on the Blackhawks as he scored twice to tie the record, and nearly netted a hat trick in the final minutes.
Wayne Gretzky was in attendance to witness his goal record being tied by one of the greatest goal scorers we have ever seen.

After a recent announcement it was just revealed that Ovechkin has officially broke the goal scoring record and now holds the record for most goals ever scored with 895.
