Boston Bruins to trade for a top-six forward: Elliotte Friedman just released a timeline for it to happen

After losing top-six forward Jake DeBrusk to free agency two years ago, the Boston Bruins have been searching for a forward to replace him.

Don Sweeney believed that the Bruins would be able to do so with a player within the organization, but ultimately was not able too.
Last year, it was clear that the Boston Bruins were hurting after losing Jake DeBrusk, and a top-six forward was needed.
Instead of acquiring a top-six forward, Don Sweeney ended up selling at the NHL trade deadline sending the Boston Bruins into a retool.
It was expected that Don Sweeney was going to make some big moves during free agency this year, possibly bringing in a top-six player, but instead he opted to sign a bunch of depth players.
Now, NHL insider Elliotte friedman has revealed when Don Sweeney is expected to make a move for a top-six player.

With all the signings the Boston Bruins made during free agency, no players were signed to massive contracts despite Tanner Jeannot.
This is going to leave the Boston Bruins with plenty of cap space entering the 2026 off-season, and some big names are going to hit the market.
Elliotte Friedman believes that the Boston Bruins did not make any big moves this off-season to prepare for next off-season when some big named players could hit the market:
