Boston Bruins Top Head Coaching Candidate Rick Tocchet Officially Hired

One of the top candidates the Boston Bruins were pursuing for their head coaching position was just hired, and the Bruins have officially missed out on another head coach.
With a recent announcement, it was revealed that Rick Tocchet will not be returning to the Boston Bruins as a head coach.
The former Boston Bruins forward, Rick Tocchet who won the Jack Adams Award as the best coach in the NHL just one year ago, is going back to a former team, the team he started his NHL career with in the Philadelphia Flyers.
Not long into the off-season Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Canucks and Tocchet could not come to terms on a new deal. Tocchet became one of the most sought after head coaches on the market, and the Boston Bruins were a team interested in him.
Tocchet Officially Signed
Yesterday multiple insiders revealed that the Philadelphia Flyers were expected to name him as their next head coach.
Sources say #Flyers are closing in on hiring Rick Tocchet as their next head coach. Not official yet and still steps to go in the process, but definitely trending as if it will get done in short order.
Later on in the day after these reports came out, Flyers reporter Anthony SanFilippo revealed that he was signing a five-year deal worth $25 million.
Rick Tocchet will be the next head coach of the Flyers. Sounds like the deal is in the range of five years, $25 million total.
Not long after all this news came out, the Philadelphia Flyers themselves ended up confirming that they have hired Rick Tocchet as their next head coach.
