Boston Bruins trade their 7th overall draft pick: Acquire a top 5 pick moments before the draft
A recent development has surfaced regarding the Boston Bruins allegedly quiet shopping for a higher pick for today's NHL Draft.
The Boston Bruins organization is heading into the
NHL Draft, today, Friday, 27, with a rare opportunity, and a massive decision to make.
This Original Six franchise currently holds the
No. 7 overall pick for this year's NHL Draft, the highest draft slot the organization has had in more than a decade.
Due to the foreseen 2024/25 season that left the team tied for the fourth-worst record within the National Hockey League.
That being said, the Bruins' current spot should yield a skilled and talented player, yet, there's immense speculations and rumors allegedly claiming that Boston might not stay put with their pick.

According to The Athletic's Scott Wheeler, the Bruins are reportedly exploring their abilities to move up in the first round.
«Sounds like Bruins also have interest in moving up,» Wheeler stated, «My sense is the (Philadelphia) Flyers and Bruins at 6-7 like the same three players: (Brady) Martin, (Jake) O'Brien and (James) Hagens. Everyone keeps telling me those three won't get past 6-7. And yet, there appear to be eight players for seven picks.»

Wheeler's insight perfectly correlates with what the
Boston Bruins are currently in desperate need of: a center.
And luckily for the organization, this year's draft is especially loaded in top-tier talent at that specific position.
With even some projections showing that as many as seven centers are speculated to be coming off the board in the top 10.
Although it is uncertain whether or not the organization will acquire a higher pick for this years NHL Draft, if general manager, Don Sweeney, intends to jump the line, he does in fact have the draft capital to do so.
As the Bruins currently hold five first-rounders and four second-rounders across the next three drafts.
Despite Sweeney's decision, Round 1 of the NHL Draft is set to start tonight, with Rounds 2-7 set for Saturday afternoon.
