The Boston Bruins are trying to retool their farm team and improve the depth in the main roster, well still being in a "win now" situation.
Don Sweeney is doing a great job at minimizing the cap space he has and using it to sign lower-level players that can be projects for the team but still help improve the team.
With that said the Boston Bruins have signed
Parker Wotherspoon to a one-year, two-way deal worth $775K with a $500K AHL split.
The 6'1 defenseman only has only played 12 games in his NHL career with 1 point across those 12 games.
He is definitely more of a AHL-level player, playing in over 200 games with the Bridgeport Islanders.
Parker Wotherspoon has had some up and down years, but his best 2 years were in 2018-19 and 2019-20. Scoring 23 points in 2018 in 64 games played, and then continuing that play in 2019 where he scored 27 points in 62 games.
At 25-years-old the kid still has a lot of room to development and should be able to do that in Providence.
