The Boston Bruins already clinched one of the earliest playoff berths last week and now, they can accomplish something special again tonight.
A Season For the Record Books
With a 54-11-5 record, the Bruins can clinch the Atlantic Division as early as tonight, and before any other team has clinched a playoff berth.
As per NHL Public Relations:
The Bruins will clinch the Atlantic Division title if they defeat the Canadiens in any fashion AND the Maple Leafs lose to the Panthers in regulation.
Toronto will be Florida while the Bruins host the Canadiens at TD Garden. Both games are scheduled for a 7 pm EST puck drop.
If Boston is able to clinch tonight, in game number 71, they would become the quickest team to a division title since the 1997 Colorado Avalanche (70 games).
