Completed trade between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens: There is one clear winner
The Boston Bruins ended up completing a trade with their divisional rival in the Montreal Canadiens at the NHL draft, and there is one clear winner.
Unfortunately the Boston Bruins were not the winners of this trade, but ended up getting some good value out of it.
Leading up to the NHL Entry Level Draft, it was unclear what the Boston Bruins were going to do with their 7th overall pick.
Instead, they ended up keeping the pick whenever
James Hagens fell down to them, and drafted him.
Bruins lose trade with the Montreal Canadiens
The Boston Bruins held the 69th overall draft pick, and decided to trade it to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 3rd, and 4th round pick.
The Boston Bruins ended up getting the 79th and 108th overall picks out of this trade.

With the 69th overall pick, the Montreal Canadiens drafted 6-foot-5 center
Hayden Paupanekis, and he has the potential to become a true NHL power forward.
Paupanekis ended up scoring 11 goals, and 19 points in 32 games last season with the Kelowna Rockets.
The future seems bright for him, and Don Sweeney ended up passing up the opportunity to draft him for more draft picks.
