Don Sweeney addresses the media with a roster announcement that changes things for the Boston Bruins

To open free agency, most Boston Bruins fans were shocked to see what Don Sweeney did for the team.
Following their disappointing 2024-25 season, everyone knew some big changes were coming to the Boston Bruins during the off-season.
But General Manager Don Sweeney made a lot of questionable moves during the first day of free agency that fans are not too fond of.
A big thing the Boston Bruins needed to improve on during the off-season was secondary scoring, and Don Sweeney did not do that.
Sweeney ended up signing a total of 10 players during the first day of free agency, all of them being bottom-six/depth players.
The list of players they signed include Matěj Blümel, Michael Eyssimont, Sean Kuraly, Alex Steeves, Jordan Harris, Tanner Jeannot, Jonathan Aspirot, Luke Cavallin, and Riley Tufte.
Despite this, Don Sweeney met with the media and feels like the Bruins are going to be a better team.

Following the NHL trade deadline, Don Sweeney held a press conference where he stated that he believes this group is going to be capable enough to be competitive:
Don Sweeney: «I do believe when you put the whole group together, what they're capable of doing, we'll score enough if we play the right way, and we'll defend a hell a lot better, and I expect our goaltending to be significantly better.»
As of right now, the Bruins have a top line, and every other line is going to be filled with bottom-six players.
How Sweeney sees this team as an upgrade over last years team is mind blowing.
The Bruins still have multiple holes they need to fill if they actually want to be competitive once again next year.
