Don Sweeney reportedly set to trade the Boston Bruins 7th overall pick in a blockbuster trade
Following the lottery, there was disappointment that Boston moved back two spots, yet, Sweeney was looking at the glass half full, as he expressed his excitement with the Black & Gold having the seventh overall selection.
«We're still picking in the upper echelon of the Draft, which we haven't done for a significant time period,» Sweeney stated.
«So, we feel very comfortable in terms of where the top seven picks are and we'll get a good player and an impact player, regardless of the disappointment of moving back a couple spots. That's just the nature of the lottery.»
Sweeney then revealed that the Boston Bruins would explore all options with their No.7 pick, including the possibility of trading for a higher selection.
«If you have a chance to win the lottery, I'm sure you receive phone calls in terms of whether or not you'll ever move that pick,» said Sweeney.
«At seven, you still may, difficult to move up from there, but we'll do our due diligence in terms of what teams may want to jockey around and we still feel very comfortable about the scouting that we've done and the player we're going to get it at seven if we decide to stay there.»
However new insight has surfaced, revealing that the Boston Bruins organization is reportedly set to undergo a blockbuster trade with their overall pick, as Sweeney revealed today, Tuesday, June 10, that he still has not ruled out a trade for later this month.
«GM Sweeney at today's "Sturm" presser made clear he has not ruled out a trade around No. 7 draft pick later this month.»
Although it is not certain what the Boston Bruins will do during this year's offseason, it is certain that the organization will undergo a busy summer.
