Ex-Bruins captain Brad Marchand has just helped the Boston Bruins in massive way
Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers are doing wonders for the Boston Bruins right now. A recent announcement revealed that they have helped them during their retool process.
Especially considering the
return they got for Marchand. In return for their captain, Don Sweeney only got back a conditional second round pick.
The condition on the pick was that Marchand had to play in 50% of the Panthers playoff games, and they had to make it to the ECF.
The #NHLBruins have acquired a conditional 2027 second-round pick from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Brad Marchand.
If those two conditions were met, the Boston Bruins would receive a first-round pick from the Panthers instead of a second.
Brad Marchand Helping The Bruins With The Panthers
Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers are currently up 3-0 on the Carolina Hurricanes in the ECF, meaning the Boston Bruins are going to receive a first-round pick from the Panthers, and it has officially been updated on
PuckPedia:
Updated via @PuckPedia - Boston received a 2027 first-round pick from Florida as the conditions were met for the Marchand trade. We'll see if Boston makes all of these selections, but that's a very good place to start the retool.
Now the Boston Bruins have a first round pick this year, two first-round picks in 2026, and two first-round picks in 2027.
Pending soon-to-be met conditions of the Marchand trade, Boston projects to have 7th overall pick in 2025, two first-round picks in 2026 and two first-round picks in 2027. They'll have five (!) first-round picks and four second-round picks over the next three drafts. #NHLBruins
They may opt to trade a couple if it's at the right price, but this definitely will help the Bruins retool moving forward.
