Nick Foligno plays for the Blackhawks, but as someone who has played with the Bruins two years prior feels he has a pulse on who the Bruins will select for Captain next season, it could come between Charlie McAvoy and David Pastrnak.

The Boston Bruins are in the midst of a retool, which could evolve into a rebuild. That depends on the outlook after Wednesday, which is rumored to be a huge day for the Bruins.
They will have to consider who will be the next Captain for the Bruins, considering their last, Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers in March.
Forward Nick Foligno, who played for the Bruins for two-seasons loved his time in Boston and TD Garden feels like he has an idea of who the team could select next.
«Be who you are. They're so genuine, so authentic, that's why they're leaders,» Foligno said. «They're great people, great players and they care about the group. When you have good people like that leading the way, good things are going to happen. I think the Boston Bruins are in good hands, especially with some of the players they have. Pasta and Charlie are two of the best.»

That's a resounding endorsement from someone who's played high-level hockey with the Bruins organization.
The trio became close during his two years in Boston and still keeps in touch with Pasta and McAvoy.
Both Pasta and Foligno were neighbors in Boston, and still meet up from time to time, which they did on the Wednesday before the Blackhawks game against Boston on the 10th.
They were all a part of the team that won a President's Trophy in 2022-2023 under Jim Montgomery. Given their experience together in two seasons, Foligno knows who's ready to be a leader in the Bruins organization and feels that either could lead the new Bruins team into the future.
«They both have the capabilities and I don't think either one would care who gets it,» he said. «I think that speaks volumes about them as leaders.»

Foligno has two-years remaining on his deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, and it's doubtful he'll get to chase a Stanley Cup again, but has found his time as Captain for the Blackhawks fulfilling as he'll get to leave a legacy of wisdom in the NHL.
