This has been a difficult season, not just for the Boston Bruins, but for fans, and now Joe Sacco had some controversial comments following their previous loss and it could cost him his job with the organization.
There hasn't been too many promising signs for the Boston Bruins this season other then the fact that David Pastrnak is still one of the best snipers and elite players in the league even after Don Sweeney had a fire sale at the NHL trade deadline.
Sweeney made these moves in hopes to re-tool on the fly and not go into a full rebuild. He acquired some draft capital at the trade deadline, and some young talented prospects/NHL ready players.
The Boston Bruins roster is pretty depleted, and on top of that they are dealing with some injuries to some of their top players as Charlie McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm have both been out long-term for the Bruins.
After the game Joe Sacco had some controversial comments that could cost him his job.
Joe Sacco Could Lose His Job Following Recent Comments
After the game, Joe Sacco spoke about how the Bruins played and believed that his team played a good 60 minutes, and he was happy with their compete level.
"I liked a lot about our game tonight. I thought our compete level was high. I thought there was a lot of intensity in our game tonight.
It's unfortunate that we didn't come away with the result that we wanted. Obviously, it's frustrating. I feel for the guys, but we gave a solid effort here tonight. We just fell short."
The Bruins are better off losing games now, as they barley have a chance to make the playoffs and might as well get the highest pick possible, but Sacco's comments about his teams effort is definitely raising eye-brows, especially after losing EIGHT straight games.
"We were just ready to play tonight. Detroit obviously was ready to play. We answered the bell. We were ready to play a really tight game both ways."
Do you think Joe Sacco should be fired by the Boston Bruins?
