Renowned for his ability to irk opponents and their fans, Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand is a polarizing figure in the NHL. Despite his knack for getting under the thickest of skins, it appears that Marchand is not impervious to the jabs thrown his way.
During a ceremony honoring the Lunch Pail Athletic Club era, a period known for its tough-as-nails players from 1977 to 1985, Marchand was asked how he would have fared in that robust era. To his credit, Marchand openly acknowledged that the required toughness of that time was not his forte. However, he humorously admitted that there was one aspect he might have relished.
"I wouldn't be around very long... You had to be a different type of tough to play in that era," Marchand confessed. "Although it would have been fun to be allowed to go up and fight the fans."
While many NHL fans might fantasize about taking on Marchand, it seems the Bruins agitator would be more than willing to return the favor if given the chance.
