Multiple Boston Bruins Players Gaining A Ton of Interest Leading Up To The NHL Trade Deadline
The Boston Bruins during the Four Nations Face-Off break will have to consider what to do with their free-agents. Sources indicate the team's free agents continue to generate interest with Stanley Cup contenders.
Of those teams mentioned specifically, are the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Colorado Avalanche who are in the Western Conference.
But, let's not get too hasty here, as we know the Bruins have more than one free agent who isn't the captain.
According to Kaplan, the Bruins are receiving "a bunch of calls" on
Brandon Carlo, Morgan Geekie, and Trent Frederic.
Morgan Geekie is a pending RFA who had a career year in 2023-2024. He scored 39 points (17 G, 22 A) for the Bruins under Head Coach Jim Montgomery. However, since the team will have control if they tender him a qualifying offer, the chance remains he could continue to wear a spoked-B.
Trent Frederic is one Bruins player who has generated a good amount of interest as a third-liner who has a scoring touch, and fighting prowess. Traits that are useful deep in a playoff run, and since the Bruins haven't signed him yet, he could end up on a contending team's roster.
Last but not least,
Justin Brazeau has put a target on his back as a trade candidate, as this season he's scored 10 goals, 20 points, and 81 hits. He could be a great depth option for a team who needs secondary-scoring, and some muscle on the ice.
But it all comes down to whether the return for the Bruins will be worth it for any of the names mentioned above.
