There may be a deal in place for the Boston Bruins and former captain Brad Marchand to have a reunion in the off-season.
Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers are just two wins away from winning the Stanley Cup, and he is just two weeks away from entering free agency.
With how he is performing, he has been generating a lot of interest from multiple teams around the league.
His eight goals and plus-15 rating during the playoffs has helped the Florida Panthers come closer to repeating as Stanley Cup Champions, and his playoff resume is just growing.
According to Tara Sullivan of The Boston Globe, head coach Paul Maurice called
Marchand "an exceptional man."
«I've really enjoyed having him,» Maurice told reporters.
Bruins feel the exact same way, now the question is if the Boston Bruins will try and bring him home during free agency.
Brad Marchand Returning To Boston?
Marchand's contract officially expires on July 1st, and although the two sides couldn't reach an agreement during the season, it makes sense a reunion would be appealing.
Don Sweeney and Marco Sturm have made it clear that they are moving forward as a team.
During his opening press conference, Sturm stated that the franchise has to be led
by the "new group."Marchand can be tucked into a depth role with the Florida Panthers, where as the Bruins would more than likely use him as a top-line presence in their lineup.
There are no doors closed on
Marchand returning back to Boston, but with the rumours on what he is going to want in free agency, maybe the organization should appreciate him from afar and welcome him back to finish his career.
