The Boston Bruins Are Reportedly Set To Target An Unexpected Player In The Off-Season: Per Insider

The Boston Bruins organization is actively pursuing European free agents, having recently signed net-minder, Simon Zajicek, to an entry level contract, and new insight from Russian reporters suggests they may soon add another player.

This player being a former Anaheim Ducks and Carolina Hurricanes forward, Maxime Comtois, who has allegedly been of interest for the Bruins.

Maxime Comtois, who currently plays in the KHL with Dynamo Moskva, is in a contract which expires on May 31, 2025, and Russian journalists of Sport-Express reported that the Boston Bruins are not only interested, but are leading contenders among NHL teams for the 26-year old forward.

The Longueuil, Quebec native, Comtois, recorded 50 points in 62-regular season KHL games and 13 points in 15 playoff games this past season, alongside 99 penalty minutes.

He was selected 50th overall by Anaheim in the 2017 NHL Draft and debuted with the Ducks in 2018, earning seven points in team games before returning to the QMJHL.

Within Comtois career, he has primarily played left wing across his 211 NHL games, and with Boston needing contracts for left-handed forwards, such as Johnny Beecher, Jakub Lauko, Marat Khusnutdinov, as well as Morgan Geekie, who often played left wing, Comtois could easily fit into the Bruins' bottom-six forward group of he signs.
