The Boston Bruins may have acquired their star goaltender: He was already in the organization

The 2024-25 season was a disaster for the Boston Bruins and now they are hoping for a bounce back season.
A big reason for the Bruins 33-39-10 record during last season was because a lot of players did not play up to potential.
And a big part was due to the Bruins terrible goaltending. Jeremy Swayman played a good chunk of those games, but Joonas Korpisalo wasn't great either.
Now the Boston Bruins may have acquired their new star goaltender, but it's someone already in the organization.
Jeremy Swayman needs to have a bounce back year
Heading into the 2025-26 season, the Bruins are going to have full confidence in Jeremy Swayman, but Marco Sturm already stated that playing time is going to be earned.
If Jeremy Swayman can play up to potential, the Bruins have a star goaltender in net.
But the big question is if Swayman can actually return to form this season, and last season was just a fluke.
Swayman wasn't the only player to blame, as not a lot of players ended up playing up to their potential including Pavel Zacha.
Zacha had a big dip in production from the 2023-24 season to the 2024-25 season.
In 2023-24 Zacha ended up having a career year scoring 21 goals, 38 assists for 59 points in 78 games.
That dipped down to 14 goals, 33 assists, 47 points in a full 82 game season.
If all of the Boston Bruins players can play up to their potential, there is a good chance that the Bruins could be a more competitive team next year.
If not, the Bruins may find themselves being a bottom team in the league once again.
