With the Boston Bruins expected to be drafting high in this years draft class, they might have just found their official replacement for Patrice Bergeron.

After their shocking first-round loss to the Florida Panthers in 2023, it ultimately ended an era for the Boston Bruins. During the off-season they saw the likes of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retire, and the organization has been looking for someone to replace them, but have been unable too.
Lindholm, Poitras, and Zacha have all given the Bruins some optimism at points throughout the year, no one has been able to take ahold of that number 1 center spot on the first line.
With how terrible of a year the Boston Bruins have had, they hold the fourth-best odds to win the Draft Lottery this year, and if they have a pick in the top-five, they will more than likely target a center.
There are some solid options in Michael Misa, and James Hagens, but one player that has flown under the radar is Anton Frondell.

Bruins Finally About To Get Patrice Bergeron's Replacement

Frondell, a Sweden native had a very interesting draft year. He appeared in 10 games with Djurgardens IF's J20 team where he had seven point. Not terrible, but not the best either for someone who could get picked top 5.
Things get interesting with him though as he played 29 games in the HockeyAllsvenskan, which is the second-tier of Professional Hockey in Sweden and scored 25 points while earning Rookie of the Year honors. This is the same league where NHL superstas like David Pastrnak, William Nylander, and Elias Pettersson played during their draft years.
Frondell isn't the biggest in the draft class, sitting at just 6'0 and 196 lbs, but he has one of the best shots in the 2025 draft class. One of his upsides is the ability to create opportunities for not just himself, but his teammates, and has a wicked one-timer.
He has a really good two-way game, something the Boston Bruins love, and it's not far fetched that he could be a first-line center in the NHL one day.
Some scouts have Frondell listed outside of the top 10 in this years draft, but others like Bob McKenzie, and Craig Button have him sitting in the top 5.
This is an exciting time for Bruins fans, something they have gotten to witness in a long time.
