Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney is traveling to view the Abbotsford Canucks vs Laval Rocket match in the AHL. This could be the start of a bigger trade for the front office as it appears Sweeney could be scouting the Canadiens and Canucks prospects.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, rumors are swirling as GM Don Sweeney is one of many NHL GMs viewing the Laval Rocket and Abbotsford Canucks game tonight.
The reason? To scout talent which could lead to a big trade, which could involve Elias Petterson and some Vancouver Canucks prospects.
With news, that forward
Trent Frederic is generating interest from multiple teams in the NHL, could he be a part of the big deal which could involve the Canucks or Canadiens?
They have no room for him after recently signing forward
Mark Kastelic to an extension.
The Bruins are 3rd in the Atlantic Division, with a 20-16-4 record, and have just re-signed forward Mark Kastelic.
The deal will come with a $1.567 million cap hit and run through the 2027-28 season
While there's been no official word of who Sweeney will be scouting at today's match, the Vancouver Canucks are dealing with locker-room drama and could part ways with JT Miller or
Elias Pettersson to give the team a chance at peace.
Some of their top prospects are Jonathan Lekkermaki, with Aaty Ratu who are big names that Sweeney could pry from the team's hands if he's looking to add to the Bruins pipeline for the future.
But the
Bruins need win-now pieces, which is why this is all the more puzzling.
Who do you think the Bruins' future trade partners are?
