After having a disappointing year, it's clear that the front office does not want to have another year like that one again. During the end of year press conference, the Bruins made it clear that they want to be back competing as soon as next year.

If the Bruins want to do that, General Manager Don Sweeney is going to have to have a good off-season in rebuilding the team, and getting his injured players back healthy. Some players on the roster must also play better including goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
Sweeney has multiple options on making the Bruins roster better for next year, he can do this in free agency, making trades, or he could possibly draft a gem at the Entry Draft. There is some speculation that Sweeney may try and complete a blockbuster trade, but if he does these two players should not be touched.

Two Boston Bruins Prospects The Bruins Shouldn't Trade

The Boston Bruins don't have a top prospect pool, but they have some prospects that could and will generate interest from other teams, and they would want them included in a blockbuster deal.
The two prospects that should be off limits for the Boston Bruins is Matthew Poitras and Fraser Minten.
Minten was acquired in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs that saw the Boston Bruins send Brandon Carlo there during the NHL trade deadline. Minten started his stint with the Bruins in the AHL, but made his way onto the Bruins roster at the end of the year and was impressive.
It wouldn't be shocking to see him make the roster out of training camp as a bottom six center. Minten has an impressive 200-foot game, and his decision making was very impressive.
Poitras on the other hand shows flashes that he's an everyday NHL center, but he's been dealing with injuries that have affected his play the last two seasons, and it saw him get sent down to the AHL for a bit. While being with the Providence Bruins, Poitras took his game to another level, and there is some speculation he may make the roster out of training camp as well.
