Even though all 32 NHL rosters are supposed to be set by now, a trio of players were placed on waivers Wednesday, according to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.
''Pospisil (CAL), Harrington (SJ) & Labrie (TB) on waivers''
Forward
Martin Pospisil of the Calgary Flames, defenseman
Scott Harrington of the San Jose Sharks, and forward Pierre-Cedric Labrie of the Tampa Bay Lighting were all placed on waivers today at 2 pm EST.
Pospisil, 22, is set to play for the Abbotsford Heat of the AHL for the fourth straight season.
Harrington, 29, was a PTO invitee for the Sharks and turned that into a one-year deal. He also appeared in one of the games in Prague, Czech Republic, during their Global Series last week.
Labrie, 36, signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning earlier this week and will play for the Syracuse Crunch if he clears waivers.
Goaltender
Jonas Johansson was also reclaimed from the Arizona Coyotes by the Colorado Avalanche, who put him on waivers on September 29th.
