Forward Brad Marchand missed eight games with the Boston Bruins after undergoing surgery on both hips in the offseason, and the veteran has returned to action and looks better than ever.
In 10 games this season, Marchand has registered five goals and nine assists, including career point number 800. However, one specific part of the winger's game has seen a massive change, well, so far.
The 34-year-old has yet to take a penalty through his first ten games, which doesn't seem like much, but Marchand ranks in the top ten in penalties taken among active players.
He also ranks 7th in penalties taken since 2010 with 360
Besides the 2017-18 season, where he only played 68 games, Marchand has ranked in or near the top five in penalties in the last five seasons. However, he has also ranked near the top in penalties drawn throughout his career and is one of, if not the best-shorthanded player in the NHL.
