BREAKING Bruins Sign Zdeno Chara To Contract Extension.

As the Boston Bruins continue their push to the Stanley Cup playoffs, the team and general manager Don Sweeney announced some news on Wednesday.
The team has signed captain Zdeno Chara to a one year contract extension which will see him paid $5million along with an additional $1.75million in performance based incentives.
The B's captain is currently in his 20th season in the NHL and his 12th with the Bruins, the 41 year old has 23 points so far this season in 68 games.
He sits seventh in franchise history for games played, third in points by a defenseman behind two legends, Ray Bourque and Bobby Orr.
Sweeney and Chara will hold a press conference at TD Garden at 4:30pm today.
