The Boston Bruins are currently hosting the Carolina Hurricanes for a Thanksgiving matinee at TD Garden. After the first period, the Hurricanes are up 2-0 on the Bruins, which hasn't happened in Boston this season.
Carolina scored both goals on the powerplay in the first frame;
Stefan Noesen at 6:34 and
Jesperi Kotkaniemi at 15:05. That gave the Bruins a two-goal deficit for the first time at home this season.
Prior to today's game, the Bruins had only trailed for a total time of 13:12 while leading for 401:44.
The boys will need to mount a comeback to keep another streak alive and set a new NHL record. The Bruins come in 11-0-0 at home, tying a league record tied by the 1963-64 Hawks and last season's Panthers for consecutive home wins to start a season.
