There's still lots of questions regarding what will happen with the rest of the 2019-20 season and some teams have already started work on 2020-21.
Teams are constructing rosters for next year by signing prospects to entry level contracts, signing current NHL players to extensions and signing KHL players.
The Boston Bruins are one of those teams as general manager Don Sweeney has gotten busy before the season starts and it's more than likely he gets a lot more work done during the coming months. Boston is up against the cap and will more than likely move a piece or two to free up some salary cap space or let a couple of fan favourites walk.
According to multiple sources one of those will likely be Jaroslav Halak.
James O'Brien of NBC Sports believes there's a high chance he walks over to a divisional rival in the Montreal Canadiens.
Halak has done an incredible job backing up Tuukka Rask in Boston and would make a welcome addition to the Canadiens as he's always been a fan favourite over there as well.
The question of course is, would Halak be willing to come back to Montreal and backup Price after losing his job to Price?
Bergevin and the Canadiens definitely have the salary cap space to make him forget everything and offer a very juice contract.
