Charlie McAvoy has unquestionably turned into the Bruins best defenseman.
The 24-year-old has spent five season with the B's since he was selected with the 14th overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
The blueliner is currently enjoying the best season of his career so far, with new highs across the board in goals (9), assists (44), points (53), all while averaging a career high in ice time.
But one of the most intriguing stats reveals how clutch McAvoy has been for the Bruins when the game is on the line.
Thanks to his beautiful goal against the Blues last night, Charlie McAvoy joined some pretty elite company.
He became just the third defenseman to score at least four overtime goals in Bruins history, joining Hall of Famer Ray Bourque (5) and, ironically, current St.Louis Blues defenseman
Torey Krug (4).
For the storied franchise set to reach the century mark in two years, McAvoy's latest milestone is definitely impressive.
And with plenty of good years left ahead of him, it's almost certain that the blueliner will chase Bourque for the all-time record one day.
