Mark Recchi finished his 22-year career playing on a line with a young Brad Marchand, and clearly had a major impact on him.
Along with Patrice Bergeron as the centre, the trio helped the Boston Bruins capture the Stanley Cup in 2011, and made some incredible memories along the way.
Recchi recently appeared on an episode of
The Cam & Strick Podcast and shared one of those hilarious stories of Marchand. This one from soon after the Cup win. Have a listen below:
How is it not surprising that a 22/23 year old Brad Marchand just wanted to buy a Lamborghini, basically, just because he could?
Also, it was interesting to hear Recchi mention how he didn't see Marchand becoming the star he is now. Even when playing up in the NHL during his shortened rookie season.
