Da Beauty League has been described by players as a ''glorified pickup game'' where several NHL and college athletes enjoy some games in the summer to stay in shape.
The games take place on Wednesday nights in July and Monday and Wednesday through August at Braemar Ice Arena in Edina, Minnesota.
Several NHL players attend the event, including:
Besides Forbort, the Boston Bruins also have representatives in terms of some AHL/depth players, including
Jack Ahcan, James Greenway and
Vinni Lettieri.
Lettieri is the Bruins' player that found himself in the midst of a fight during the summer league game action. The forward started some rough stuff with Pittsburgh Penguins forward Teddy Blueger, and things got a little too serious as Lettieri was cut during the fight.
Lettieri was signed to a one-year, two-way, one-year contract by the Bruins on July 13th.
