Two of the Boston Bruins' Atlantic Division rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning, had a rough and wild affair Thursday night in a possible first-round playoff matchup.
The Lightning dismantled the Leafs by a score of 8-1, and because of the lopsided affair, things got a little out of hand:
After the intense matchup Thursday night, there's a possibility of the two teams meeting in the first round, with them sitting second and third in the Atlantic Division as of now. There was a combined 114 penalty minutes, along with five misconducts and one fight.
The only fight was between
Patrick Maroon and Wayne Simmonds, and both veteran tough guys seemed to enjoy it:
But maybe the best moment was during a scrum late in the third period. Kyle Clifford of the Leafs grabbed a loose stick and bonked the helmetless
Corey Perry of the Lightning over the head with it.
Check out the hilarious clip here:
As a Bruins fan, would you like to see the Leafs and Lightning go at it in the first round?
