The Boston Bruins rolled over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night, but there were plenty of testy moments during the 8-4 win.
Penguins forward Patric Hornqvist was a target of the Bruins after his hit to the head of defenseman
Charlie McAvoy during the first period.
McAvoy bent over while trying to gain possession of the puck and Hornqvist came flying in and drilled him directly in the head with his shoulder. The force of the hit caused McAvoy's visor to gash his nose.
This action drew the ire of captain Zdeno Chara, but McAvoy would try to get even early in the second period and when had a chance to give Hornqvist a big hit, he took full advantage of it.
Hornqvist was not penalized on the original hit and according to Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston, he will not face any disciplinary action from the league either.
