The Boston Bruins will be buyers at the deadline as they make another push for the Stanley Cup.
While there's been plenty of speculation on who might be brought in, they'll likely be somebody going the other way and the Bruins might lose a prospect.
According to Corey Pronman ofThe Athletic, the Bruins could be shipping Trent Frederic out of town.
The Bruins 2016 first round pick hasn't really been able to solidify himself a spot in the NHL roster and has mostly spent time in the AHL over the last couple of years.
The 22 year old currently has 26 points in 47 games so far this year for the Providence Bruins.
He's signed through the 2020-21 season before he becomes RFA.
Here's what Pronman had to say about Frederic:
"Boston is a buyer that lacks an obvious prospect as a trade chip unless they want to part with
Jack Studnicka, which I think is highly unlikely, but Frederic's name comes up every so often in my discussions with scouts as a player who could draw interest. Even the optimists on Frederic realize his upside is a bottom six forward. He's got some skill and speed and can play at both ends of the rink and could be a useful fourth-line forward, I think."
Would you be disappointed to see Frederic go?
