The BostonBruins and general manager Don Sweeney made another splash at this years trade deadline when they landed Ondrej Kase and NickRitchie at the trade deadline.

They were in the mix for a bunch of players and it looks like they could still be in the mix for one of them.

The Bruins could look to solidify their top nine for next season and make a move with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks are trying to move a couple of forwards and were in talks with the Bruins earlier this season regarding Brandon Saad.

Just like Kase and Ritchie, Saad is signed through the 2020-21 season but will become UFA instead of RFA after that season which will give the Bruins a nice piece to make a push now and open up cap space to likely re-sign Kase down the road.

The Bruins have a couple of pieces they could send the other way and open up a bit of extra cap space.

It'll also present another way of strengthening the power play which could fall off a bit without Torey Krug.

Saad continues to quietly be reliable and produce only missing the 20 goal mark once over the last six seasons when he scored 18 in 2017-18. The 27 year old had 21 goals in 58 games this year before the season was put on hold.
