Recently, a $31 million star forward's name has been coming up in a lot of trade talks, and according to a recent report, the Boston Bruins may be involved in a blockbuster trade to acquire him.

Jason Robertson has been a key member of the Dallas Stars offense over the years, but it seems like the organization may be moving on from him soon.
According to NHL insider Jeff Marek of the Daily Faceoff, he mention that Robertson could be traded after yet another disappointing playoff exit from the Dallas Stars:
«Could the Stars move someone like Jason Robertson, who has one more year on his deal at an incredible $7.75 million value, to try to recoup Draft capital and free up cap space to once again go big-game hunting in the summer?

If so, I'd watch the Ottawa Senators and Anaheim Ducks as possible destinations,» Marek wrote.

«And if (and it's a big 'if') the Stars move Robertson, do we start to hear Mitch Marner's name attached to Dallas? The Stars still want to be tougher. I believe if Mathieu Olivier got to market, the Stars would have been all over him,» Marek added.

Robertson would be the biggest name on the trade block if he were to be traded.

What Would The Bruins Give Up To Acquire Robertson?

According to heavy.com, the Boston Bruins could package Fabian Lysell, Morgan Geekie their 2025 first-round pick (7th overall) and a 2026 first-round pick:
Bruins acquire:

Jason Robertson

Stars acquire:

Fabian Lysell
Morgan Geekie
2025 first-round pick (7th overall)
2026 first-round pick

Robertson is a legitimate star in the league, but is in his final year of his four-year $31 million deal, and is in line for a huge contract extension. He scored 35 goals, 45 assists for 80 points in all 82 games this season, but just two years ago scored 46 goals, had 63 assists for 109 points.
Having him play with David Pastrnak would be an instant boost to the Boston Bruins and would completely turn their retool around.
Giving up the first-round pick would suck for the Bruins, but it's not a deep draft this year so they could definitely afford to give it up.
Moving on from Lysell may also not go well with the fan base, but the Bruins would be acquiring a legitimate star in the league for someone who has never been a point-per-game player, and a prospect that has yet to prove anything.
