A completed blockbuster trade involving the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings on this day

On this day, July 10th, a blockbuster trade erupted within the National Hockey League, involving two Original Six franchises, the Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings.
A recent post on social media, via 'Instagram', was posted earlier today, July 10th, 2025, unveiling an absolute blockbuster trade that erupted within the NHL back in 1957, which involving both the Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings.
Although these two organization's wouldn't know it, this trade ended up becoming a one-for-one trade involving two future Hall of Famers.
As this was the day that the Boston Bruins would receive one of the best players within the organization's franchise history, Johnny Bucyk, in exchange of legendary net-minder, Terry Sawchuk.
The post revisiting this historic trade was revealed by the NHL Network, take a look:

It was a blockbuster deal between the Bruins and Red Wings to say the least, which involved one of the greatest Boston Bruins forwards of all-time, Johnny Bucyk.
On the other end, it was Terry Sawchuk, the main who donned many scars on his face as he refused to put a goalie mask on.
Sawchuk holds the NHL record for most career shutouts (103) and games played (971).
That's not it though; the Bruins dealt away a netminder that would ultimately end up winning the Calder Trophy, four Vezina trophies, and four Stanley Cup with the Red Wings and Maple Leafs.
Looking back on this deal, it was a blockbuster one to say the least, involving two future Hall of Famers; but nobody knew that at the time.
