The Ottawa Senators are currently in the middle of a battle in the playoffs against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and a massive announcement was just made regarding ex-Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark.
Jeremy Swayman clearly won over the number one goaltending spot after his playoff performance last year and was set to be the number one goaltender for the Bruins this year.
With that being said, the Bruins opted to trade Linus Ullmark during the off-season to the Ottawa Senators.
After being down 3-0 to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Senators ended up finding a way to get their first win beating the Leafs 4-3 in overtime.
During game five, the Leafs once again had the chance to take out the Senators, but like many years before were not able to finish the series, and the Senators beat the Leafs 4-0.
Huge announcement involving Linus Ullmark
With the Senators beating the Leafs 4-0, Ullmark ended up picking up his first career playoff shutout:
First career #StanleyCup shutout for Linus Ullmark 🙌
The Senators are battling to keep their season alive, and this wouldn't be the first time the Leafs have blown a lead when they were able to close out a series.
It will be interesting to see how the remainder of this season goes for Ullmark.
Do you think Linus Ullmark can carry the Ottawa Senators to the second-round?
