A massive announcement was just made by the American Hockey League involving the Boston Bruins organization.
General Manager Don Sweeney ended up making a lot of bold moves during the season, the first one being firing head coach Jim Montgomery early on into the season.
After that, there was talks about the Boston Bruins possibly being sellers during the trade deadline, all depending on where they were sitting closer to the trade deadline.
These moves confirmed that the Bruins were not going to be a playoff team this year, and they ended up missing the playoffs for the first time in eight years.
But with the Boston Bruins being out of the playoffs, they still have something to look forward to as their affiliate in the American Hockey League are currently in the playoffs.

The Providence Bruins played in a do-or-die game against Springfield on Friday night and Vinni Lettieri came up huge scoring a goal in overtime to win 1-0 and save themselves from elimination.
Now the Providence Bruins will be playing in a winner moves on game today in Providence.
