Former Boston Bruins captain, Joe Thornton was just handed a management role with the San Jose Sharks.

During the 2021-22 season, Thornton ended up playing in his 24th season, which would be his final season in the NHL with the Florida Panthers.
He was just inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame last month, along with another former Boston Bruins captain in Zdeno Chara.
Now, Thornton has been handed an exciting new job, landing a management role.

We've got some new names and titles in the Hockey Ops department!
It's not too surprising to see him land this job with the Sharks, as he spent 15-years with the organization after the Boston Bruins shockingly traded him during the 2005-06 season.
Thornton was traded to San Jose in exchange for Brad Stuart, Wayne Primeau, and new head coach Marco Sturm.
His new job is going to include helping young players develop in the right direction as the organization continues their rebuild.
Boston Bruins originally drafted him with the first-overall pick during the 1997 NHL Entry Level Draft.
He appeared in 532 games over eight years with the Boston Bruins, scoring 169 goals, 285 assists for 454 points with a plus-25 rating.
Do you think Joe Thornton is going to do a good job with his new management role?
