Last night, David Pastrnak proved exactly why he should be the next captain of the Boston Bruins organization.
Since trading Brad Marchand, there has been a lot of disccusion on who should be the next captain of the Boston Bruins organization.
Fans seem split on who the Boston Bruins next captain should be, and you really can't go wrong with having Charlie McAvoy or David Pastrnak as the leader of the team, but last night David Pastrnak once again proved why he should be the Bruins next captain.
David Pastrnak The Bruins Next Captain?
Since trading Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak has stepped up in a big way. Even with Brad Marchand on the team, Pastrnak has been carrying the Bruins this entire season, and he did just that again last night while joining some elite company.
Last night Pastrnak ended up scoring his 38th, 39th, and 40th goal of the season, recording a hat trick, hitting the 40 goal mark for a 5th time in his career joining Phil Esposito, and Rick Middleton as the only Bruins to do so.
Pastrnak hits 40 goals for the fifth time. Joins Phil Esposito (7x) and Rick Middleton (5x) as the only Bruins to do that.
That line scored all five goals, all at 5-on-5. The Bruins finally end their 10-game losing streak and avoid tying the franchise record.
Even though Charlie McAvoy has missed some time, I think it's safe to say that with how Pastrnak has handled the media this year, and how he has been carrying the Boston Bruins all season long, he has made a good case to be the next captain of the Boston Bruins.
