A crucial loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, April 3rd seemingly deemed the Boston Bruins as the worst team in the NHL's Eastern Conference, and a defenseman has decided to let his true feelings be known.
A 'huge' defenseman for the Bruins, standing at 6-foot-8 and 248lbs, has recently been under scrunity in the media for his comments towards goaltender Jeremy Swayman, and he has now once again began trending for a strong statement delivered to the media.
During an interview with NHL.COM's Sean Farrell, following the 4-1 defeat against their longtime rivals, the Montreal Canadiens, Zadorov didn't mince his words when speaking on his teammates effort.
Zadorov slams teammates after loss to Canadiens
"The other teams are just hungrier than ours. They want to win more, that's the bottom line. We're just not hard on the puck. We're easy to play against."
That's also a clear signal to general manager Don Sweeney, who's currently icing a team without capabilities of performing at the NHL level.
"I mean everything," Zadorov said when asked what went wrong after the first stanza, per NESN's Gayle Troiani. "We didn't win any battles. Couldn't leave our zone. We got one shot, two shots on net in the last five minutes of the period."
During this rough, 10-game losing streak, the Bruins have been outscored 46-18.
Things have been trending downhill in Boston since the March 7th trade of Brad Marchand, which will go down in the history books as one of the most devastating days to be a Bruins fan.
The Bruins and Zadorov look to snap their horrid streak today against the Carolina Hurricanes, and the call out from the towering defenseman means pressure's on.
