The Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney will have to figure out how to prioritize his cap space come July, as they have more than a few players on expiring contracts.

As it stands the Boston Bruins have $5.6 million salary cap space available, even after trading away their core.
That core included players such as Charlie Coyle, Brad Marchand, Brandon Carlo, and Trent Frederic.
Now, with several UFAs on the Bruins roster GM Don Sweeney will have to figure out how to allocate the team's space efficiently and deliver a roster that will improve on their current situation.
A situation in which he has as much to blame to share as the players involved with their pitiful performance this season which saw former Coach Jim Montgomery get fired.
The majority of the players listed above could be considered depth players on other rosters. However since the Bruins are in a retool, the talent pool has shrunk and he'll have to figure out whether someone like Henri Jokiharju is worth keeping, along with players like Cole Koepke who were bottom-six forwards at the beginning of the season.
Now, he and Vinni Lettieri occupy spaces once held by players like Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk.
It's pitiful how broken the team is now that he sold off the majority of the roster.
How soon until Sweeney has to admit they will be undergoing a rebuild? It doesn't seem too far off.
Either way, the Bruins will have to consider whether they will feast or experience famine if they keep any of the FAs mentioned above.
It doesn't seem like they'd have much in trade value at the moment, but maybe Don Sweeney could tell us his plans?
