The Boston Bruins went crazy during the NHL trade deadline, completely blowing up their team, and now Brad Marchand revealed that Don Sweeney kind of threatened players before trading them.

At the NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins ended up trading a lot of key members and leaders of the team including Brandon Carlo, Charlie Coyle, Justin Brazeau, and the biggest shock being captain Brad Marchand.
NHL insider James Murphy of rg.org has revealed that Don Sweeney was seriously pissed off with his core players, and met with them not once, but twice and basically threatened them.
An NHL source told Murphy that the leadership core of Marchand, McAvoy, Pastrnak, Coyle and Carlo were all warned.

Don told the core back in November and again before the Four Nations: 'If you don't get this together, changes are coming for you!' and clearly he held true to his word. They all knew this was coming if they didn't start winning more and find consistency.

He made it clear that he would do something exactly like this. He met with the leadership core and coaching staff after they fired 'Monty' [Jim Montgomery] and again right before the break.
After firing Jim Montgomery back in November, the Boston Bruins had a bit of a boost under Joe Sacco going 7-2-0, but soon after return to being mediocre, and now just sit one game about .500, and are 7th in the Atlantic Division with a different looking roster then they began the year with.
Following the trade deadline, and after Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers, he opened up about the talks the core had during their struggles this season:
«We talked about it; we tried to stop it, and we just couldn't,» Marchand admitted. «It just seemed like every time we tried to do the right things and change course, it wouldn't come together for us."

Since the NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins are 2-1-0 and the team looks a little different with more speed, skill, and youth on the roster.
