Boston Bruins reunite with a former defenseman in a trade: He is being shopped
The Boston Bruins have been looking to upgrade the right side of their defense, and now a former defenseman may return in a trade.
Elliotte Friedman revealed that
the New Jersey Devils have been in conversations with multiple teams about one of their top defenseman in Dougie Hamilton.
Friedman stated that the Devils are trying to explore all of their options:
«I know that his name was kind of out there,» Friedman said.
He also went on to state that the Devils have paid all of his signing bonus' on July 1st, and now his contract has changed from a full no-move clause to a partial no-trade.
With that change in his contract, teams have been interested in acquiring the defenseman.
Hamilton reuniting with the Boston Bruins?
Following that he was traded to the Calgary Flames in 2015 where the Boston Bruins got a first-round pick, and two second-round picks.
Now there is some speculation that the Boston Bruins may be open to a reunion with the former defenseman, as they have been looking to upgrade the right shot on defense.
Hamilton last year ended up recording 40 points in 64 games with the Carolina Hurricanes, but he carries a hefty contract, with a cap hit of $9 million.
