Boston Bruins sign Connor McDavid in free agency: A major report has linked the two together as a possibility

Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney continues to seek a way to get the organization back into their rich-winning ways as things have quickly fallen off track.
A latest report for Elliotte Friedman reveals that the Bruins have their eyes already set on the 2026 NHL offseason and free agents, and there's one big fish available on the market.
Connor McDavid to the Boston Bruins is a possibility
Several reports that are eye-opening reveal that McDavid may be heading to the open market, and it's a huge opportunity for the Bruins.
GM Stan Bowman has publicly revealed that it's in Connor's hands to make a decision:
"He's the #1 priority. I think also, listening to Connor's take, he's earned the right for us to be respectful of his timing"

What about joining the most rich Original Six franchise, alongside David Pastrnak, Connor?
NHL writer Adam Gretz has revealed that the Bruins are a prime landing spot for the current oilers captain:
"To be more than what they were this past season and more than what their roster figures to look like this upcoming season, they'll need a game-changing No. 1 center.
"That has been their biggest need since Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retired, and the likes of Casey Mittelstadt, Pavel Zacha and Elias Lindholm are not going to satisfy it. McDavid obviously would. The Bruins are in a big market and are an Original Six franchise that still has eyes on winning," Gretz wrote.

McDavid to the Bruins? This would certainly complete Don Sweeney's 'retooling' process.
It would also redeem Sweeney's trust in fans, that was very hurt when he moved on from longtime captain Brad Marchand.
