Boston Bruins trade a goaltender to the Pittsburgh Penguins: A blockbuster trade has been proposed

This off-season, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the Boston Bruins trading a goaltender, and a new trade proposal sees them trading a goaltender to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Pittsburgh is trying to shed some cap space, and they are in need of some goaltending help.

With this, Heavy.con has proposed a trade between the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking to get rid of Karlsson's $10 million cap hit, and are looking for some help in the crease making the Bruins an ideal trading partner.

Heavy.com has proposed that the Boston Bruins would trade Korpisalo and defenseman Andrew Peeke to the Penguins, in return for Erik Karlsson and a second-round pick in 2026.

For taking on Karlsson's cap hit, the Bruins would get a second round pick, as well as clearing up $5 million in cap space by moving Korpisalo and Peeke.

The Penguins would have to retain a bit of salary to make it work, as they currently have $2 million in cap space.

Clearing $5 million in cap space, the Penguins would have to retain $3 million of Karlsson's contract, bringing him to an AAV of $7 million.
