The Boston Bruins have ultimately committed to a full-scale tear down, and this was evidently confirmed when the organization departed with their major foundational pieces, such as Brad Marchand, Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederic, and Brandon Carlo.

With that being said, the question lingering on everyone's mind is: who is next?

All eyes are turning to the Boston Bruins' 28-year old center, Pavel Zacha.

However, this situation is far more complex than a simple asset-management decision.

While trading Zacha makes sense on paper for a team undergoing a re-tool, the decision to depart with this forward undoubtedly lies in the hands of David Pastrnak.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli stated, «if the right deal were presented to the Boston Bruins, they'd have to consider it.» And while that is a fair point, this forward is one of Pastrnak's closest friends on the team and a trusted line mate.

So if the Bruins do decide to trade him, that sends a devastating message to the franchise's cornerstone, the one superstar that must be happy through this painful rebuild.

That being said, the Boston Bruins' front office is well aware that moving Zacha could fetch a great return of picks and prospects to fuel their ongoing re-tool, yet holding off from an asset perspective, it might be best for this franchise to wait.
