As the NHL Draft approaches (June 28-29) and free agency follows on July 1st, the Boston Bruins are determined to retain their 2023 NHL Trade Deadline acquisitions.
The Bruins are looking to bring back two big names
According to the 32 Thoughts Podcast, the Bruins are actively working to bring back Tyler Bertuzzi and Garnet Hathaway, both potential unrestricted free agents.
General Manager Don Sweeney is reportedly making significant efforts to keep them, despite limited salary cap space.
In addition to Bertuzzi and Hathaway, the Bruins have other key players set to become unrestricted free agents, including Dmitry Orlov, Patrice Bergeron, and David Krejci. The team also has three restricted free agents to sign.
With just $4.162 million in cap space, Sweeney is exploring trades to create room. Linus Ullmark, Matt Grzelcyk, Derek Forbort, and Taylor Hall are among the names circulating in trade discussions.
