The Boston Bruins officially clinched the Atlantic Division with a hard-fought win over Tampa Bay on Saturday, and by doing so, joined an elite list of NHL teams.
Keeping the Good Times Going
Already with several accolades to their name this season, the Bruins added to it with a 2-1 win over the division rival Lightning. With it, they became the third fastest team in league history to clinch a division title.
As per NHL Public Relations:
The Bruins clinched the Atlantic Division in their 72nd game of the 2022-23 season. Only two teams have clinched a division in fewer contests during an 82-game season in the four-division format.
Boston currently has a record of 56-11-5 with only nine games remaining, and are on pace for 63 wins and 133 points. Both of which, would also set NHL records.
