The Florida Panthers came home with a 2-0 advantage in the series against the Lightning, but weren't able to go up 3-0 on the Lightning. Following the game, Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov had a clear message for Brad Marchand and his teammates in the locker room.
The playoffs is never easy, it doesn't matter who you go up against, as everyone is playing the best of the best. The Panthers knew that their first-round matchup against the Lightning was not going to be easy and was going to be a battle.
After returning home, the Panthers did not seem ready for the lightning losing the game 5-1, and it was a wake up call for the Panthers. Barkov ended up sending a clear message to Brad Marchand and the rest of the team in the locker room.
Tkachuk ended up scoring the first goal of the game early on, but they weren't able to hold onto the lead or build off of it and gave up five unanswered goals.
Both sides sent messages to each other. Hagel had a massive blindside hit on Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov in game two.
Tkachuk responded to that by doing the same thing on Lightning's
Jake Guentzel who has been one of, if not their best player. Game 4 seems like it's going to be a battle between the two teams.
Barkov Sends The Panthers A Clear Message
After the loss, Barkov had this message for Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers:
«We will learn a lot from this game,» Barkov stated postgame, via NHL.com. «We had a great start, did the right things. But they are a great team, played really well and won the game. All we can take from this is learn.»
Things are definitely going to get heated in game four, and it may be a must watch game.
