Along with the big news on Taylor Hall, the Boston Bruins a significant update on defenseman Charlie McAvoy, who suffered an injury scare on Thursday.
Although it was unexpected, head coach Jim Montgomery confirmed that McAvoy will be playing tonight against New Jersey.
McAvoy was injured in the second period of Thursday night's game against the Maple Leafs, and did not return.
Thankfully, it was announced postgame that he was held out for precautionary reasons, and he was day-to-day. With just four games remaining in the season, it was expected that the top defender would get some much-deserved rest.
In 64 games this season, the 25-year-old has 7 goals and 43 points, after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery.
