Ahead of their evening matchup against the Los Angeles Kings, the Edmonton Oilers have made a massive announcement regarding former Boston Bruins fan favourite Trent Frederic.
Ex-Boston Bruins fan favourite Trent Frederic got injured on February 25th in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and was expected to miss some time.
Frederic was going after a loose puck in the offensive zone, when him and Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe ended up colliding, and Frederic took the worst of the hit.
After making his way back to the bench slowly, Trent Frederic appeared to be labouring before he ended up heading down the tunnel.
Frederic was laboring on the bench before heading to the room.
He ended up leaving the game and not returning, but despite the injury news, there was still speculation that the Bruins were going to trade him at the NHL Trade deadline.
And they did just that, the Boston Bruins ended up trading Trent Frederic to the Edmonton Oilers.
In return the Boston Bruins received prospect Max Wanner, a 2025 2nd-round pick, and a 2026 4th-round pick.

Just ahead of their game against the L.A. Kings, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch made a massive announcement regarding Frederic, revealing that he is finally going to make his debut with the Oilers.

Frederic has been sidelined since late February, and will get to see 7 games with the Oilers before they enter the playoffs.
